exporting emails

Hello,

We are switching our work email from the web hosting provider (where we use Thunderbird) to Gmail. Both accounts have the same address, so I am unable to add the gmail version to Thunderbird to manually export all of our emails to the new gmail server. Any ideas how to export all of my Thunderbird emails to my Gmail account without brain damage?  :-)

I am unable to add the gmail version to Thunderbird

Make sure to name the new account different than the existing one. Name is what you see in the folder pane.
