How to I stop the "Mozilla Firefox is not responding"?
Hey, I have been getting that "Mozilla Firefox is not responding" for a while now. I have already done some troubleshooting to no avail. I have turned off the hardware acceleration, I have deleted my cookies and I am on the latest Firefox (#39). What else can I do? It has a hard time with youtube. I updated all my add-ons and Java and Flash. I also have trouble when I look through your help tools and on other sites like Google and such. One of the times that the gave me that message it sprung up with the "debug" message that changes every time and actually does nothing. I have ran all of my malware and other security checks and it is all A-okay. Here is what one of the messages said:
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script in the debugger, or let the script continue.

Please help me. I don't have this trouble with Internet Explorer.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web Link} by holding down the <Shift>
(Mac Options) key, and then starting Firefox. Is the problem still there?
So far it seems to be. What does that mean?
Safe Mode is a troubleshooting mode that temporarily turns off hardware acceleration, resets some settings, and disables add-ons (extensions and themes). If the problem goes away, that tells us one thing. If it does not, that tells us something else.
It could be the work of one of your add-ons. Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; <Control>(Mac:<Command>)<Shift> A)
In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Disable a few add-ons, then Restart Firefox.
Some added toolbar and anti-virus add-ons are known to cause Firefox issues. Disable All of them.
If the problem continues, disable some more (restarting FF). Continue until the problem is gone. After, you know what group is causing the issue. Re-enable the last group ONE AT A TIME (restarting FF) until the problem returns.
Once you think you found the problem, disable that and re-enable all the others, then restart again. Let us know who the suspect is detective.
So it is the Skype add-on. Do I need that to be able to use Skype or can I leave it unabled?
I think leave it disabled until you check with their support. Also check for Skype software updates.
