When starting Mozilla from a reboot I click to start the browser. It tries to install a Mozilla update but tells me there is another version of Mozilla running. There is not. Is there anything I can do to force the update?

go to www.getfirefox.com, download the new version. Restart your computer, then install the file you downloaded (don't open Firefox until you run that installer file)

Also make sure that your security software isn't locking files in the Firefox program folder.

Do you have the Firefox 24 ESR version (see Help > About) or are you on the release update channel?
