how to remove fake adobe flash player update?

more options

whenever i visit certain sites, i get a bogus "update adobe flash player" screen that attempts to install bugware on my system. the workaround is to explicitly use the https:// prefix or /? suffix, but i would rather not have this crap on my system. windows defender doesnt detect it; nor does it show up as an addon or plugin in the firefox tools. thx.

Your Flash Player is indeed outdated. You can get the full installer without bundled third-party software below (the one for "other browsers").

If the problems persist, fully scan your system with updated anti-malware software like Malwarebytes Antimalware. It would be best to use several such applications, as not every one will detect the same threats.

It's also possible that the ads are coming from the sites themselves. If so, you can block them with Adblock Plus.
