"Open All in Tabs" reuses existing tabs, how do I make it create new tabs instead?

I have some folders of bookmarks on my bookmarks toolbar. When I clicked "Open All in Tabs" on one of those I was surprised to see that it reused tabs I already had so that I lost everything I was looking at in those tabs. I want it to create and use NEW tabs. How do I set it to do that?

That's not good, they are supposed to be added on at the end. It's not a feature I use often, but in two quick tests, that's what I get.

Do you notice the problem in tabs that were opened in the current session, or only in tabs that were re-opened from a previous session?

As a possible workaround: if you hold down the Shift key, the tabs will launch in a new window, leaving your current window tabs undisturbed.

Actually it was a mixture of tabs re-opened from a previous session and new ones I had just opened.

I do have the 'Tab Mix Plus' add-on. I wonder if something there changed the default Firefox behavior. I looked through its settings and didn't see anything about this behavior.

I will do the Shift key workaround. That probably serves my needs just as well or even better anyway. I didn't know about that, so thanks!

Does the problem exist when you have TabMixPlus disabled?

Just tried the test with TabMixPlus enabled and was able to reproduce it. Then I disabled TabMixPlus and, sure enough, was NOT able to reproduce the problem - it created new tabs. So it's either some setting in TabMixPlus or a bug in it.

Thanks! I had looked through the TabMixPlus options, but didn't know what I was looking for and so missed it! That fixed it.
