how to totaly remove an adon
i have this ad on (which i have thought i have totally removed) but for some reason is still giving my mozilla the same symptoms.
every time i exit out of firefox, it keeps on setting http://search.conduit.com/?ctid=CT3317740&octid=EB_ORIGINAL_CTID&SearchSource=55&CUI=&UM=2&UP=SPA0DE38DF-0104-4A98-97C5-52AB4E7216A9&SSPV= as my homepage. i dont want that and i have tried setting youtube as my home page many times!
not once has it stayed as my default homepage. ps the ad on is AVG SiteSafety which i dont even remeber installing but it is a pain in the butt

im still having the same problem! ive found a conduit file on my computer and deleted it but i cant find any more files linking to conduit!
You can search for conduit pref on the about:config page and reset involved prefs via the right-click context menu to the default value.
Can you go into the Windows Control Panel, find Uninstall a Program, then sort by install date. Look for anything close to the time the problem began as a potential culprit.
im still getting the annoying conduit problem. is there a way i can delete stuff in about:config? cause i need to delete every thing that does with conduit.
You can open the about:config page via the location bar and search for prefs that refer to conduit and reset these prefs to the default value via the right-click context menu.
Also check for the presence of a user.js file (Windows may hide the file extension) in the Firefox profile folder.

still not helpful. ive tried to do about:config but it keeps coming back. and icant find the path to user.js. what do i do in that folder?
Hi zedlander1000, use the "Show Folder" button on the Troubleshooting Information page to open your active profile folder. This should make it easy to find user.js. If you just see user without the .js extension, consider changing the Windows setting that hides file extensions. See: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/865219.
