Why doesn't search box on firefox page work after upgrade to 18.0 or 18.01
Running 17.01 because upgrade to 18.0 & 18.01 makes the search window on the firefox page stop working. Able to type into it with flashing cursor, but when you hit enter nothing happens.

The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.
To Reset Firefox do the following:
- Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
- Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
- Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
- Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

it works, however have to troubleshoot almost everytime i search...
Try to use the SearchReset extension to reset some preferences to the default values.
Note that the SearchReset extension only runs once and then uninstalls automatically, so it won't show on the "Firefox > Add-ons" page (about:addons).
Current Firefox versions use the default search engine (pref: browser.search.defaultenginename) to set the search engine that is used on the about:home page.
Check the browser.search.defaultenginename pref on the about:config page and make sure that it is set to the default value Google.
