Hello I am running Mozilla Firefox 17.0.1 on win xp pro It seems updating to ver 17 has stopped my ad-on-manager from doing anything other than loading, have tried click on extensions and other tabs, can see current installed plugins only but search for any just keeps spinning.

Along with this Download manager dos not pop up in a separate window and is blank when or after trying to download something. Tried changing download folder - no luck at all so cant even downgrade my version of firefox.

Any help would be appreciated

Also: The Reset Firefox feature can fix many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information. Note: This will cause you to lose any Extensions, Open websites, and some Preferences.

To Reset Firefox do the following:

  1. Go to Firefox > Help > Troubleshooting Information.
  2. Click the "Reset Firefox" button.
  3. Firefox will close and reset. After Firefox is done, it will show a window with the information that is imported. Click Finish.
  4. Firefox will open with all factory defaults applied.

Further information can be found in the Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings article.

If you would like to save a listing of the add-ons, important modified preferences/settings etc. to quickly replicate the previous profile, please Copy all to clipboard (on the left of the reset button), and paste it into Office Excel, or OpenOffice/LibreOffice Calc, or notepad. However, it would be a good idea to check for the existence of the issue immediately after the reset. Also, it would be a good idea to install the add-ons/extensions/toolbars via the Search bar (top right) in Firefox Tools (Alt + T) > Add-ons, or from AMO.

Reinstall the Add-ons.
May the add-ons is not compatible for latest firefox.
Try "Downthemall"

Thanks for getting back to me, I was away for a couple of days and just tried this now. That worked wonderfully - so now searching the add-ons works and it seems good. both Add-on manager seems to work now and Download manager.

Thankyou again
