why is firefox not prompting me to remember passwords anymore? i have checked next to "Remember passwords for sites" and i am NOT in private browsing mode. the feature was working fine until a couple of weeks ago.

Start Firefox in Diagnose Firefox issues using Troubleshoot Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance/Themes).
- Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

Hey it might be that you told Firefox to never remember passwords for a particular site.
Go to Preferences - Security - check Remember passwords for sites.
Click the Exceptions... button to the right of Remember passwords for sites and make sure that the site you're trying to log in to isn't in the list. If it is, select the entry and click Remove.
Hope that helps!
it's not just one site. however i checked and there are no websites on the list at all.
