I was testing FF 6.0 beta and when you click on Bookmarks there is something called "Unsorted Bookmarks" on the bottom of the list (column).

If you do a right click to delete it you can not do it.

Does anyone have a clue how to delete this option?

I do not see it on my FF 5.0 nor did I see it on any other FF browser till now.

My add-ons are IE Tab2 and Status-4-Evar

The Unsorted Bookmarks folder is where bookmarks are created if you click the star on the location bar to bookmark the current site.

You can't remove that folder, but you can hide that menu entry in the Bookmarks menu in the Firefox App menu with code in userChrome.css

Add code to userChrome.css below the @namespace line.

See:

@namespace url("http://www.mozilla.org/keymaster/gatekeeper/there.is.only.xul"); /* only needed once */

#BMB_bookmarksPopup menuseparator[builder="end"],
#BMB_unsortedBookmarks {display:none!important;}

What did you do to get it to work?

That menu item was added to that menu because someone requested it. Is that menu item really that offensive? It's not like it is causing any real problems with using Firefox, is it?

GEE THANKS SO MUCH FOR DELETING AN ENTIRE POST THAT HAD EXACTLY ONE QUESTIONABLE WORD. LIKE FRIGGING IS ALL THAT OFFENSIVE. WELL SINCE YOU SEE FIT TO DELETE THAT POST I SEE FIT TO DELETE YOUR BROWSER (AGAIN) AND USE GOOGLE CHROME, UNTIL YOU SEE FIT TO MAKE THIS DRECK WORK PROPERLY. WHAT WAS ONCE A NICE SECURE & SIMPLE BROWSER HAS TURNED INTO AN UTTERLY LOATHSOME PIECE OF BLOATED TRASH. PLEASE FEEL FREE TO E-MAIL ME WHEN YOU DECIDE YOU WANT TO MAKE THIS THING WORK AS SIMPLY AS VERSION ONE ONCE DID

PS MR ED (I'll call you that because so far you've acted like the northern end of a south bound horse) I find it offensive enough to revert to using GOOGLE CHROME, and deleting Firefox once again. Perhaps if you would post your explanations in COMMON ENGLISH, you know the stuff non-programming geeks use, you might get better results. Look I AM A HARDWARE GEEK, NOT A SOFTWARE NERD. I upgrade computers, not code, and when your instructions are as byzantine as the ones posted here you lose more than 1/2 the users. Some may not take as drastic an action as I have and delete the browser. I on the other-hand feel that if you want to make all software "beta" perhaps the company which you provide support for, needs to fail. Or they could fix the problem themselves and save getting all the negative comments about their product. To think I thought the Microsoft model of screwing users was pretty much limited to soulless corporate street walkers of their ilk. Perhaps I was wrong.

Hello the-edmeister,

                                Just think of all the PIXELS one would save in the menu if we were able to DELETE Unsorted Bookmarks if one so wished, just like in the good old days before version six, makes ones eyes well up with tears, but i do live in hope.
 Anyhow here is a funny youtube vid that has nothing to do with this topic enjoy! it is over 12 mins long but worth it.

@Tayberry

A fix has been posted twice in this support thread. If you are unable to implement that fix, you'll just have to learn to live with it as the developers made it.

Hello again,

                 I know others have ranted a bit, but thats not my way the point is that most people are not comfortable or at ease faffing around in user chrome i know i am not! Hopefully Firefox will remain EASILY and highly customizable for its many millions of users?
  The way that unsorted bookmarks just sits there at the end of the menu is like a swift knee to the nadgers, its like a large unpaid drinks bill in a posh hotel, it needs to be easily nuked from orbit for those who want a cleaner user interface it needs to be terminated, talking of which have some more youtubes.

This is where you're dead wrong, I don't have to live with it and as of Tuesday the 23rd of August I don't live with it as I've DELETED the offending browser. I have moved on to GOOGLE CHROME again. A very simple procedure, not byzantine like your asinine "code fix" solution, or your "stylish" solution, NEITHER OF WHICH WAS A SOLUTION AT ALL Way to go Mozilla keep making unneeded changes you clowns will fall behind Microsoft IE in no time.

Sincerely, angered and ex user

This really isn't the place to voice opinions about development. That's what the "Submit Feedback" item in the Help menu is for. If you'd like to get into an actual discussion about Firefox development, that's what the mozilla.dev.apps.firefox newsgroup is for. And design-specific issues can be discussed in mozilla.dev.usability.

If there's a change that you want to know why it was made, asking in here should be fine. But be wary of those whose answers are based on speculation.

Since this question is already marked as solved, I'm going to lock this thread. If you have any questions, just use the https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/new form. That way, support volunteers will have more details about your system and be better able to help you.
