Hello! Having happily used Firefox for many years, I'm now finding two related issues:

1) Firefox is automatically increasing the font size on webpages (not all webpages, but many, inc. Google searches, Amazon, the Guardian). I have to refresh the page to get it back down to regular size. For example: I do a Google search; click on a link; return to the Google search, and at that point the text jumps larger. It keeps getting larger until I refresh, when the process starts again.

2) My Yahoo mail is unreadable in Firefox. The text is either too big or unreadably small - even within the same email. For example: I open an email that is a response to one I sent; the text of my original email is really large, and the text of the response is really small (like, 5 points or less).

I can't think of anything that I did that acted as a trigger for these problems. My Firefox is up to date. I'm using a Mac, and running Ventura 13.4; I recently upgraded from Monterey and had both these issues on Monterey and on Ventura.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

You may have accidentally zoomed webpage(s). Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

  • View -> Zoom -> Reset (Ctrl+0/Command+0 (zero))

Holding down the Ctrl key while scrolling with the mousewheel will zoom the page or change the text size if "Zoom text only" is enabled in settings. Check your keyboard to make sure that the Ctrl keys are not stuck.

I think that on Mac the Ctrl/Command key won't zoom the page since 109. Comment 4:

  • 1781960 - stop doing (reflow) zoom when ctrl/cmd plus touchpad scroll on mac [109]

Thanks for the suggestions! Unfortunately, View -> Zoom -> Reset (Ctrl+0/Command+0 (zero)) [I'm assuming this means hold down Ctrl +0 + Command at the same time?] didn't help. I'm uploading a screenshot. Often new emails are coming in at the tiny font size (so, they're unreadable) with my text very large underneath. Any other thoughts?

Hello @cor-el,

Do you have any other suggestions? I really don't think I'm Zooming pages inadvertently. Any help would be very much appreciated - thanks!

Does it still happen in Troubleshoot Mode?

Note that resetting the page zoom on Mac is "Command+0", on other platforms (Windows and Linux) it is "Ctrl+0", sorry for the confusion.
