Not able to configure Thunderbird in Wondows 10

more options

Hey,

I have downloaded the latest version of TB, and installed it on my PC, but not being able to configure it with my Gmail id. I have tried using automatic setup and manual, but every time it shows "Unable to login at server. Probably wrong configuration, username, or password."

I am giving the correct username and password. I have tried different setups for configuration and even tried configuring offline; however, nothing seems to work.

I have added TB in my Firewall settings, so the issue is not coming from there as well.

Could anyone please help? This is my first time using TB, and I will greatly appreciate any help from the community.

Good Day,you can do this: If you use gmail, and use 2-FA (two-step) authentication, then you will need to enter (instead of your gmail password) your APP PASSWORD. Go to https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords and generate it and enter it in PASSWORD field, when adding an account; and choose “AUTODETECT” instead of OAuth2.

Hey Super.molfar,

Thanks a lot. I usually do not use 2-FA authentication. But I followed your instruction, but it doesn't solve the issue. Now the error changed to "Thunderbird failed to find the settings for your email account".

I am still stuck.
