Can someone tell me why they have made it so that i can only search in the top address bar even while giving me the option to have an address bar above my website shortcuts?

I hope this is just a mistake, cause I absolutely detest this choice of theres.

You can revert this new feature by setting browser.newtabpage.activity-stream.improvesearch.handoffToAwesomebar = false on the about:config page.

You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can click the button to "Accept the Risk and Continue".
