When trying to sign in for 1st time on Thunderbird I keep getting error saying unable to log in at server. I am using an AT&T acct tied to Yahoo. I was using Windows Live Mail but got 3 days it would not send or receive mail. So I thought I would try Thunderbird. Using same credentials as I did before and as I can with yahoo. Don’t understand why I’m getting this error. Can I get some help please. Thanks

I changed the settings to include OAuth and it setup the acct but does not receive any mail. So there is still a problem. I tried sending a email but it failed at the outbound server and asking for a new password. I am at a lose here. I thought this would be very simple.

You can't use OAuth2 unless you're connecting through the Yahoo servers, imap.mail.yahoo.com and smtp.mail.yahoo.com. With AT&T accounts connecting through imap.mail.att.net or inbound.att.net etc., the authentication must be 'normal password' and a secure mail key must be used in place of the regular account password.

Ok I deleted the acct and started all over. The setting are as follows POP3 inbound.att.net 995 outbound.att.net 465 normal password Cannot get a connection.

I had been using Windows Live mail with the same setting and all of a sudden it stopped working. So I thought I would try this. I can get the my mail thru ATT web browser just fine & Yahoo just fine.
