My client is able to see all updated email through the web portal for their mailbox which is AT&T. They have a second AT&T email that is not having any issues sending/receiving. I know the password is correct because they haven't changed it since 2018 and I am able to login to the web portal with the same password.

I have already reached out to AT&T and they were able to prove the issue is not on their end and they forwarded me here for further assistance.

If you are getting email and not from Yahoo server settings then AT&T say there has been a change in Authentication Method. I'm very surprised that they did not mention it to you.

So if you cannot / do not want to set up imap using OAuth and connect to Yahoo or do not want to use the server settings as below then you need to create a 'Secure Mail Key' as per instructions at link. Then use that 'Secure Mail Key' instead of the normal password in Thunderbird.

Remove stored password in Thunderbird Restart Thunderbird then enter that 'Secure Mail Key' at the password prompt.

Alternative: Not sure if you are getting AT&T via Yahoo or not. If you use yahoo then: IMAP Server name: imap.mail.yahoo.com IMAP port: 993 Connection security SSL / TLS Authentication Method: OAuth2 IMAP username Your full email address IMAP password Your password

(AT&T) SMTP Server name: smtp.mail.yahoo.com SMTP port 465 Connection security SSL / TLS Authentication Method: OAuth2 SMTP username Your full email address SMTP password Your password

when you restart after checking settings, you will get prompted to logon to allow Thundrebird access and then a token is created and stored in Thunderbird.
