Since the last Win10 update, a few days ago, when I start Thunderbird I get a series of error boxes saying: "The code execution cannot proceed because i.DLL was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem. " And the same message for r.DLL and t.DLL. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling, tried upgrading to the latest version - still doesn't work. Any ideas how to fix this?

As this occurred after a Windows 10 update, it is possible this has more to do with the Operating System. Please read info at this link: https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb/help/4026529/windows-10-using-system-file-checker

Thanks for the suggestion. I was hoping someone would know which dlls are problematic, so that I could try an reinstall the relevant culprit. Guess I'll have to keep struggling with Windows.

well i.dll r.dll and t.dll and not helpful in seeking assistance as they are not Thunderbird DLL names.

I do wonder however if the problem is your operating system or some sort of security software that is trying to "sandbox" Thunderbird.

Do you get any error when you run the installer? or does it just install and then not run

It installs but pops an error immediately when you run it Meanwhile I'm having similar problems with a couple of other applications as well, so its clearly not a Thunderbird issue.

As a wild guess I would say that you have issues either with windows uac, but more likely an internet security suite which has had it's basic security levels raised.
