Even though I have google as my default search engine, when I type into the search bar it redirects to yahoo.

I have gone so far as to delete every search engine from the settings screen. I am not picking up any malware and I made sure I ad no add ons or extensions. Thanks for the help.

Make a back up to save your Firefox profile. https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/back-and-restore-information-firefox-profiles

uninstall Firefox.Then Delete the Mozilla Firefox Folders.Then restart system. Then run Windows Disk Cleanup. Then run it again and click the button that says Cleanup System Files. Then Reinstall Firefox.

Type about:addons<enter> in the address bar to open your Add-ons Manager. Hot key; (<Control> [Mac=<Command>] <Shift> A)

In the Add-ons Manager, on the left, select Extensions. Remove “ yahoo “ Anything.

Also remove SafeSearch, SearchAssist Incognito, FileConverter Addon, SearchLock, DiscreteSearch, WebSearch, Findwide Search Engine, securedsearch

Now do the same in the computer’s Programs Folder.

Windows: Start > Control Panel > Uninstall Programs. Mac: Open the Applications folder. Linux: Check your user manual.
