I noticed some files in that folder with the names of some web sites I've visited. I wonder if they could be some sort of hidden cookies, but I am also interested in seeing a description of the contents of all relevant Firefox folders.

The last subfolder name was truncated. It is storage default.

Hi howard.skier, the storage folders aren't used for cookies; cookies are short strings of text stored in a database named cookies.sqlite. Instead, the storage folders contain databases used for other kinds of offline data.

Unfortunately, it's difficult to view the contents of these databases on disk. The easiest way is, while you're on the website, open the Storage Inspector (Shift+F9) and you can see the contents under:

  • Indexed DB > site
  • Local Storage > site
  • Session Storage > site
