Pop up suggested using Firefox monitoring facility for which I need to log in to my account Obviously to do that I need to Log In using a PASSWORD If I "cant remember password" I am able to set a new one but that I am informed would encrypt everything and I would lose some information 1 Am I able to establish whether I have set up an account previously ? I cannot remember doing so and if not I could register NOW and I wouldnt risk "losing" anything If I have is there any way to check password by verifying my authenticity eg mobile phone number /text / e-mail etc so I maintain things as they are My yahoo email addresses are synced via yahoo but presumably need to be synced via my Firefox browser for security monitoring purposes Would appreciate your guidance

Hi HottestRod, if you created a Firefox Account before, most likely it would be to set up Sync. Sync shares Firefox settings/data between different installations of Firefox.

One way to see whether you have already used your email address to set up a Firefox Account is to try creating a new one. If the email address was already used, the system shouldn't let you use it again.

There are other things that need attention.

The System Details list shows that you have multiple Flash plugins, current is 32.0.0.156 (32.0 r0).

  • Shockwave Flash 18.0 r0
  • Shockwave Flash 32.0 r0

You can find the installation path of a plugin on the about:plugins page.

You can download the latest NPAPI Flash plugin for Firefox on this page.

Make sure to remove checkmarks for including unwanted additional software.

You also appear to have a user.js file in the profile folder to initialize prefs each time Firefox starts. The user.js file will only be present if you or other software has created this file and normally won't be present.

You can check its content with a text editor (right-click: "Open with"; do not double-click). The user.js file is read each time Firefox is started and initializes preferences to the value specified in this file, so preferences set via user.js can only be changed temporarily for the current session.

You can delete the user.js file if you didn't create this file yourself.

You can use the button on the "Help -> Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:preferences page.
