The tabs keeps quickly flicking and wouldn't stop until I quit Firefox altogether.

I usually have two tabs pinned and several more opened as I work but Firefox started flicking through all the open tabs. This starts when I open many new tabs.

Start Firefox in Safe Mode {web link} by holding down the <Shift> (Mac=Options) key, and then starting Firefox.

A small dialog should appear. Click Start In Safe Mode (not Refresh). Is the problem still there?

The keyboard shortcut Ctrl+Tab will cycle through your tabs. If you try holding that down now, does it give you the behavior you were seeing before?

Most likely you weren't pressing that, at least not intentionally, but perhaps Firefox thought you were. Sometimes jabbing the Ctrl key several times in a row will help clarify to Firefox that the Ctrl key isn't being held down. Also, beware of cats near your keyboard. ;-)

Next time it happens I'll try it out. Thank you. Sadly, no cats :D.

Thank you.

I don't know when or what triggers it, right now I have 2 pinned and 6 'regular' tabs open and working.
