I got the accessibility message yesterday but when I restarted Firefox, it isn't working (cursor not working, pages loading very slowing) . How can I fix this?

Yesterday, I got a message "Accessibility not available during multi-process support" and that I can resolve this (and I admit I don't know what this phrase means) by restarting Firefox. I didn't seem to have any problems with Firefox before doing this but now, having restarted Firefox several times, I have problems using it. Firefox seems to be okay when I use right after restarting it; however, then it stops functioning if my mac goes to screen saver mode - the cursor doesn't work and web pages are extremely slow to load if they load at all. It basically makes it pointless to use Firefox, which has been my primary work browser. Any solutions as to how to make Firefox work properly again? thanks in advance for the help best Michael

Some reading here:

You can consider to disable multi-process to see if that has effect.

When multi-process windows in Firefox is enabled then Firefox will use more memory and may be less responsive.

You can try this to see if it has effect:

  • set dom.ipc.processCount to 1 if it is currently set to a higher value (4)
  • disable multi-process windows in Firefox

You can disable multi-process windows in Firefox by setting these prefs to false on the about:config page.

  • browser.tabs.remote.autostart = false
  • browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false

You can open the about:config page: via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.
