Firefox crashes when watching Youtube videos
Hi, so as the title suggests, my firefox is crashing several times a day especially when watching youtube channels. It basically freezes firefox and it becomes unresponsive. I resolve it by CTRL+ALT+DELETE and ending the firefox process each time. I'm not sure what the reason for this is. If you can help that would be appreciated. Let me know what you need.

I noticed you have been using different beta versions
I called for more help
Perform a System File Check to fix corrupted system files Win 7, 8, 10, Vista: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/929833 Win XP: https://www.microsoft.com/resources/documentation/windows/xp/all/proddocs/en-us/system_file_checker.mspx?mfr=true
See if there are updates for your graphics drivers https://support.mozilla.org/kb/upgrade-graphics-drivers-use-hardware-acceleration
Hi, I ran the File Check scan and attached is the result.
I also upgraded my graphics drivers yesterday before posting this. Let me know what you think. Thanks.
The report shows there were corrupt files that could not be repaired. At this point, you should post a question here;
https://support.microsoft.com http://answers.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/forum/windows_10
Ok I'll try that and report back.

Ok so I managed to clear the /sfc scannow issues and there are no more problems with that. However Firefox still crashes when watching Youtube videos, usually after watching a few videos. It seems to bog down Firefox to the point where it becomes unresponsive no matter where I click, then I'm forced to close it and reopen it to continue on.
Also I noticed I'm on a beta version of Firefox, not sure if that's the culprit, but you did mention something earlier in this chat that you may need to call for help. I've attached a screenshot of the version. Any ideas?
Many thanks!

Do you have any recent crash reports with the current Firefox Beta version?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.
- Switch to the DEFAULT theme: "3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Appearance
- Do NOT click the "Refresh Firefox" button on the Safe Mode start window
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Safe+Mode
- https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Try to disable multi-process tabs in Firefox. You can disable multi-process tabs in Firefox by setting the related prefs to false on the about:config page.
- browser.tabs.remote.autostart = false
- browser.tabs.remote.autostart.2 = false
You can open the about:config page via the location/address bar. You can accept the warning and click "I'll be careful" to continue.

Hi Cor-el, yes these are the latest: bp-f6da01a7-3f40-4ceb-bc4a-93f952161227 (This one was yesterday) bp-1ffc3a6c-0535-4b54-838d-f5d1f2161220 bp-d69d7684-4b75-471f-8225-b25022161216

I'm on Safe Mode as of this writing so for about 5 min. All extensions and themes are disabled, the default theme is also apparently disabled. I had to manually disable hardware acceleration in advanced settings as it didn't do it as part of setting it on Safe Mode. I may need to go back to regular mode because of work, how do I switch back?

I think I've made enough changes for now unless you think I should do this as well simultaneously. I'm going to use the browser and see if the issue comes back, I guess that's the point of being Safe Mode correct?
Let me know and much thanks.

Safe mode shuts down hardware acceleration regardless of the setting. To end safe mode, just restart the browser normally.

Thanks FredMcD. I've been using Safe Mode for about an hour now and it seems a more pleasure to use and haven't had a problem watching videos, but perhaps it needs more time. I'll try to go back in normal mode with hardware acceleration manually turned off and see if that helps and report back.
