Hi, When opening Firefox bookmarks drop-down menu and submenus, the latter will not open to full height of screen but only downward. How could I correct this, please? Thanks, regards, David

Hi David, Put more bookmarks in them !!

The folders grow downwards initially then fill upwards and finally develop scroll bars with arrows so that overflow may be seen.

Note also there are other viewing options, there is a sidebar, or the full bookmarks library, or use the bookmarks toolbar, or you can search from the addressbar.

Thanks, that is what I already did, no lack of bookmarks here. But before I upgraded recently (Trusty) I had my submenus go to top of screen, just as high as the main menu. Submenus will not go higher than the position in the main menu, but descend down-and-sideways like a staircase. Get the point? Thanks again.

So your bookmarks sub menus grow and get scroll arrows without extending upwards at all ?

I have only just noticed you seem to be using Fx39 you need to update that. Maybe that will fix the problem. I am not in Ubuntu at present, but that should be on Fx45, unless you are on an unsupported Linux. I think my Trusty with Canonical build of Firefox gives full height menus but I can't check right now.

Mozilla Fx47.0a2 & Debian's Iceweasel Fx38.5 both give me full height menus. I have deliberately created extra levels to test and I get overlapping full height sub menus not a staircase, unless I have small numbers of bookmarks in some folders but that still expands as necessary.

P.S. The sub menus are higher than the main menu, as that is bounded by the level of the icon it drops down from. The sub menus are not.

Thanks again and yes, sub menus grow and get scroll arrows without extending upwards. I upgraded to Fx45.0.1 (should have done that earlier) but the problem persisted. Then I installed Seamonkey, moved bookmarks and got them as I wanted them. Any ideas? Best regards, David

Hi David, I don't know what causes this. I do not see this issue on Trusty myself.

Seamonkey user, I wonder then if you may have addons like CTR. Regardless of that it would be worth checking it out in Firefox's safemode

If that fails to help then rather than trying a Refresh I suggest creating a new additional profile, for test purposes, see if that helps.

I am sure you will be able to populate it with bookmarks
