How do I restore right click into bookmark properties?

more options

When I right click on a bookmark nothing happens. Properties used to open and it was possible to store information in that area.

In the Bookmarks Manager, just click on a bookmark, and its data will be displayed at the bottom of that window.

Where are you right-clicking the bookmark?

It should work in the sidebar and for menu drop-down lists (Bookmarks Menu, Bookmarks Menu button).

Does it work if you open a bookmarked page in a tab and click the blue highlighted star on the Navigation Toolbar?

Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem.

  • Switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox menu button/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance
  • Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window

hank you for the response. I will try to explain what is no longer happening.

When I go to the top of my browser and click on “Bookmarks” a whole long list opens up divided into categories. Let’s say I hold the cursor over “shoes” and then a list opens up of, let’s say, places where I like to shop for shoes. It used to be if I then right clicked on one of those places, i.e. “Great Shoes” a box would open and info about the site would show up, i.e., how the title was listed [and I could edit that] any notes I wanted to put in under a place called “properties”. That no longer happens. If I right click nothing happens all I can do is left click on the item and it will take me to the site.

I don’t have any blue stars or any other stars for that matter as I don’t use the system of those gold stars to mark favorites or whatever.

Also when you say restart in "safe mode" you mean the computer in safe mode, I'm assuming one can't just put Firefox into safe mode.

cor-el does mean Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions, hardware acceleration, and some other advanced features of Firefox.

If Firefox is not running: Hold down the Shift key when starting Firefox.

If Firefox is running: You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:

  • "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
  • Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

and OK the restart.

Both scenarios: A small dialog should appear. Click "Start in Safe Mode" (not Refresh).

Any improvement?
