What's with the low-grade "teaser" image of a couple of women with a video "go" button? How does this fit the mission statement of "enriching lives?"

The "manifesto" includes this: "The Internet must enrich the lives of individual human beings." The low-grade teaser image is a huge move in the wrong direction.

And this: "Individuals must have the ability to shape the Internet and their own experiences on it." OK, so how about starting close to home: give the user the option to be subjected to visual rubbish or not.

And this: "Transparent community-based processes promote participation, accountability and trust." Right. So how about the possibility of actual contact with Mozilla (you know, email, phone, live chat)?

Bottom line: grandiose statements with no foundation are just more politics. The word hypocrisy comes to mind.

not to get into a polemic discussion - here are two ways to solve that

If you don't like the default home page - about:home - which is sometimes used for a current Mozilla promotion, you can set any web page that you want as your home page. See - How to set the home page

Or you can use this UserStyle - https://userstyles.org/styles/104673/about-home-hide-snippets-and-hide-brand-logo - to hide the two areas of about:home that Mozilla uses for promotional messages.

Mozilla is running an online privacy awareness campaign using humorous videos. I'm not sure what you thought it was, but it's definitely not meant to be salacious.
