Firefox changes bookmarks in the bookmark toolbar when resetting windows
As the title states, every single time I reset my Windows PC, the bookmarks in the bookmark toolbar change order, but always to the same position, not randomly (as others have stated). Sometimes, after turning on my PC and trying to start up Firefox, it gives me the option of Safe Mode. I have read that I should delete my profile, but that would require a lot of time to download every addon again, is there any other way? I will add the troubleshooting information in case that helps. Thanks in advance for your time :)

Hi FredMcD,
Thanks a lot for all your help. By resetting Windows I meant shutting down the pc for the day to use it the following day. I will back up as much data as I can and reinstall Windows, it started giving strange problems along with this. Thanks again :)

These add-ons can be a great help by backing up and restoring Firefox
FEBE (Firefox Environment Backup Extension) {web link} FEBE allows you to quickly and easily backup your Firefox extensions, history, passwords, and more. In fact, it goes beyond just backing up -- It will actually rebuild your saved files individually into installable .xpi files. It will also make backup of files that you choose.

Can you tell us why you are resetting Windows?
Use the add-ons above to save your data. Once you are done, you can Reset Firefox {web link}
Reset Firefox -- easily fix most problems
If you're having problems with Firefox, resetting it can help. The reset feature fixes many issues by restoring Firefox to its factory default state while saving your essential information like bookmarks and open tabs.
Once the new profile is created, reinstall FEBE. Restart Firefox. Then use FEBE to restore your system.

Okay, resetting and shutting down are two very different things. So, you are saying that Turning Off the computer may cause this problem. Have you shut down Firefox, and started it again without turning the computer off? If not, please try it.
Problems with bookmarks and history not working properly can be caused by a corrupted places.sqlite database file.

Yes, I tried closing Firefox and opening it again but that didn't do anything. History also lost some elements but not as often as bookmarks changed positions. I've already reinstalled Windows and I've not seen the issue again. Windows was giving me some problems with other saves so I think it could be that. I didn't try to delete the file you mentioned, sorry.
