I've used Firefox on MacBook Pros since 2009. In the past there were ways to add shortcuts to websites to the Firefox Home Page. That capability is now badly degraded.

I'm running FF 156.0 on macOS Tahoe 26.7 on an M4 MAX MBP-16

Problem #1: The Firefox Homepage in one of the accounts on my MBP has 4 Rows of 6 icons each, for a total of 24. On another account it has 4 rows of 8 icons each for a total of 32. I want to increase the number of shortcut icons to 32 on the page which has 24, but I cannot find a way to do it.

Problem #2: I can't find a way to ADD a shortcut to a website to the Firefox Home Page. I'd done that many times without much difficulty about 4 years ago. (I don't want to do this by editing the name and the URL of an existing Home Page Icon.)

The yandex.kz search engine keeps opening, even though I removed everything in the settings and set it to Google only; whenever I launch Firefox, the yandex.kz URL opens. How do I remove the yandex.kz search engine and keep only Google?

20/09/2026 CROSSWORD SPOILERS

The crossword on the home page today has a clue has a very misleading answer. It gives the clue "a quartet, but doubled", which should be Octet, however it uses the very outdated and (personally believed to be) inappropriate answer as it would make sense that quarTET would then imply ocTET. A more apt clue should have been, "Triad, but for eight". Very aware this is a personal gripe rather than an actual issue, but is there a process where the crosswords are checked or are they pulled from a 3rd party site?

Once I select the address bar I am not returned to the active tab after dismissing it. Instead I get a blank (home?) screen and to return to my tab i must go via the tab menu to select the tab.

Sincerely, what is this cabbage?

Lately, no matter what I do, i.e. [three-dot-menu-icon]>Settings>Homepage>[enable Bookmarks slider] OR [three-dot-menu-icon]>Customize Homepage[enable Bookmarks slider] (same menu, but different path to it) the bookmark section will not show on the homepage, nor display the "Show all" for it. However, other Homepage settings (Shortcuts, Recently visited) do appear when enabled.

This was NOT the case until recently (possibly since the version update, that I have, which was sent on 2026-09-03).

Does anyone else, with or without this version/build, find that they can't display a Bookmarks section on the Homepage? If so, did you find a solution? Or can anyone else, with this version/build, duplicate this problem? Thanks.

I am wanting to automatically open the same set of websites each time I start Firefox without having to enter the information each time. This is possible with google chrome. Thank you.

No indication of Firefox-VPN status on homepage.

All I see is the search engine icon in the search bar, there is no way to determine if the VPN is On or Off without opening settings.

As stated above, after the Firefox upgrade to version 155.0.1 I now only have 1 row of home page shortcuts and before the upgrade had 4 full rows of shortcuts. The setting are still set to 4 rows, but only an auto generated 1 row. I would like to restore my rows without having to add them back one by one.

I just got a new Mac laptop and I again chose Firefox as my default browser. I used to have a series small tabs of frequently accessed websites at the top of the firefox home page...like my google email, Amazon, etc. I tried to do that again, only now I end up with a whole series of websites and bookmarks all across the top of the page : Yahoo, Bing, Wikipedia, Twitter, etc,. etc. I want to get rid of this lineup and I'd like to be able to add my personal email, and a few other frequently visited websites. I thought that these small tabs at the top of the page were called shortcuts - but after turning the toggle on an off in firefox settings and not changing a thing - I don't know what they are or how to delete what's there and get my person tabs back. Please help.

I'd love to use the Lists widget on my homepage (or really any widget, for that matter), but I can't see any option to enable it in the Customize page. I've been able to toggle Stories and Shortcuts, and can see and toggle Weather, but any other widget doesn't exist in any place I can find. I've tried manually toggling the individual widget flags in about:config and that hasn't done anything either, as well as trying it on a new account. Is there anything I'm missing here? How could I go about enabling these?
