I've got a new SSD and have reinstalled Firefox as my browser. In the past I've had the address field on the left and the search field to its right. I can get the search field on the same level as the address field but have not been able to switch their locations.

I have attached a screen shot of that section of my browser home page.

I thank you for whatever suggestions or guidance anyone can give.

Please add a fixed access key for the 'Translate button'. I also recommend introducing an automatic website translation function. Thank!

When I try to make a Google search I get the following message, "I'm not a robot" with a reCAPTCHA: "Our systems have detected unusual traffic from your computer network. This page checks to see if it's really you sending the requests, and not a robot. Why did this happen?". This happens on Firefox, but not Chrome or Edge. If I 'Allow' Google in the 'Exceptions - Cookies and Site Data' then I do not get the message, but it takes several seconds for Google display the resulting page. However, if I delete the cookies/cache the message will return and I have to redo the reCAPTCHA. I have scanned with Malwarebytes, Bitdefender, Hitman Pro, Trend Micro House Call and Microsoft Defender, nothing detected. Running Win 10 (64) with 'Extended Security Updates', Firefox 147.0 (64), no additional Extensions or Plugins. Also I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox.

How do I keep my menu bar showing after the last updates of 147.0? F10 is only temporary as I click or type it vanishes again. The customize toolbar wasn't helpful. I want words not symbols.

My friend recommended this browser to me. When I tried to customize it, I couldn't find an option to change the hotkeys to my preference. I consider this feature important since I use it for work. Can I do this somehow, and is there any plan to add such a feature to the settings?

The wrong password shows when I try to log into dws.com. The password that shows is 0606945495. I have gone to passwords in the browser and the correct password is shown, yet the wrong password still is shown.

Hello! :) Instead of normal letters (in English), normal font (in English), I'm getting Symbols & Shapes where words & letters should be. Happens daily & several times daily on a variety of web sites. The Symbols & Shapes never cover an entire page, just small sections here & there. Sometimes this problem fixes itself after a few minutes (meaning the Symbols & Shapes vanish and normal letters & words [in English] appear in their place). Sometimes I have to log in & log out a few times before it goes back to being a web site with normal words & letters (in English)... Sometimes, those areas - or patches - of symbols & shapes on a web site page Never get fixed...even going as far as to make the page (and one time the whole website) unusable. The extent to which I find this whole thing very annoying is compounding. Thank you in advance for your valuable time and your consideration of a remedy to my problem. Peace! ~ Catherine

Hola, firefox no funcionaba bien, busque que hacer y lei de enviar los id de informes de fallos, pero como eran muchos los elimine SIN ENVIARLOS, porque no sabia que estaba enviando y ahora no logro poder usar Firefox, lo desinstale e instale nuevamente y todo sigue igual. Hi, all of a sudden today, firefox has not worked properly, initally i thought it was my router, but upon trying google chrome, i can confirm its firefox not working as intended. I cant watch any youtube vids, they just sit on a loading circle, facebook wont load and various other websites wont load. Ive tried clearing cache/cookies etc, tried resetting my pc, nothing is working?

The Proton VPN extension/add-on usage can override the Firefox language setting when it assigns a user to a node in another land. That land's language can suddenly become the default language one sees, and may remain in spite of trying to reset the Firefox language default. E.g., if one is assigned a VPN node in Japan, suddenly the general language one sees is Japanese, and it remains in spite of disabling Proton VPN and even after exiting and signing back in. The only alternative one has is to request a different node and then wait for the timeout (30 sec., 2 minutes, etc.) for another and hopefully understandable language/country node.

I raised this issue with Proton, and they maintain that loss of one's language proves that Proton VPN is working (see my response under ratings)

1. How does someone accept "working" VPN when one loses their ability to comprehend the displayed language? In my past experiences with other VPNs (NordVPN, etc.) they never corrupted my default browser language.

2. Accessibility issues???

When I try to print puzzles daily from USA Today through Firefox, the crossword and/or the sudoku show up in the print box as 2 pages, when they are only 1, unnecessarily printing a blank page. If I print through Chrome instead, it only shows and prints 1 page. In order to print only one page in Firefox, I have to change the "pages" from all to current. Never used to have this problem.

Firefox update today 1-14-26 says Restore FF with a backup file" Instructions say go to Settings/Sync/Backup/Manage Backup. My Sync has no Backup option, only shows: Sync Manage account Device Name Syncing: ON You are syncing these items across all your connected devices: Bookmarks Open tabs Add-ons Settings Connect another device . How to proceed?

(I don't recall setting Syncing to "On" before; it also showed me as automatically logged in to my account.) Assistance appreciated! Thanks!

I have my browser startup settings set to 'open previous windows and tabs' However, every time I start up firefox, it is on the default new window screen rather than my previous tabs. This feels frustrating as I have to reopen the tabs every time.

Would it be possible to fix this?

Just downloaded "Hide Google AI Overviews" which is grayed out. in addition, Browsing Safety by Safety is asking for permissions. My question is simple, do I allow the Browsing Safety Etc. permissions and that will allow the Hide Google Etc to run. In addition do I compromise my security by giving Google those permissions?

My browser is not working as it should. Several sites do not work anymore and the browser keeps crashing. I'd like to refresh the browser, but the button is missing. I tried going to troubleshooting mode, but the button is not there either.

Not sure if uninstalling would do the same thing? Just not sure what is the best way to refresh. Thanks for any help!
