Do a malware check with some malware scanning programs on the Windows computer.
Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

Did you scan with all the programs cor-el suggested?

Yes, I did.

Could you try disabling ALL nonessential or unrecognized extensions on this tab (if in doubt, disable):

orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons > Extensions category

Likely at least one of the disabled extensions will have a link to restart Firefox, go ahead and click one of those, then test whether it makes any difference.
