Isn't there an optional button in the URL window that basically says to Firefox "Go"? Seems to have disappeared.
I have used such a button for years, until FF urge dme to go to FF17. In doing so FF insisted I reset. Now all kinds of customizations are gone, including that button.

Firefox 4 and later use a combined Stop/Reload/Go button that is positioned at the right end side of the location bar.
- During the page load process it shows as a Stop button and after the loading has finished the button is changed to a Reload button.
- If you type in the location bar then that button becomes a Go button.
- Middle-click or hold the Ctrl key and left-click the Reload button to duplicate the current tab to a new tab.

Hello Phil_Marcus, see: How do I customize or rearrange toolbar items?
thank you
There is not a "go" button in the customize repertoire.
I recall it being somewhere as a checkbox, but where in heck? (I put it up a couple years ago).
Do you not get a green arrow (on far right) when you type in the Location (address) bar?

Actually it is a green check mark, perhaps (?) a feature of the schemme add-on I am using.
The stop button remain a stop button. Maybe I have gremlins or poltergeiste.
Yes, themes or extensions can change the appearance of toolbar buttons.
The default Go button is a right pointing arrow (probably gray on Windows)
That stop button should change to a circular reload button once the page has finished loading.
- Set the order to "Reload - Stop" to get a combined "Reload/Stop" button.
- Set the order to "Stop - Reload" or separate them otherwise (Space or Separator) to get two distinct buttons.
