Does the page appear blank if you use the Print Preview feature, or does this only affect the actual print job?

Some sites have print buttons that display a page with a simplified layout for printing. Those are always worth a try.

One routine recommendation for print problems is to "reset" (clear) the various printer settings that Firefox saves. This article describes the steps to do that: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problems_printing_web_pages#Reset_printer

Does that make any difference?

Not related to your problem but some of your Firefox Plugins are out-dated, so you need to Update them. Just go to the following link:

• http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/plugincheck/
• When Downloading Plugins setup files, Remove Checkmark from Downloading other Optional Softwares with your Plugins (e.g. Toolbars, McAfee, etc.)

Thanks for the help. If i select print preview the document will show up there and if I select print from the print preview the same sequence unfolds. It will give me the prinnt options page and when I select print it will go to the print preparing page where the process freezes. Meanwhile an image of my documents library page will start flashing on the bottom display bar and if I hold the mouse over this it will say to save as. When I try to close the frozen progress preparing box it then opens the message "unknown error ocured while printing". When I click OK it then shows a window about windows looking for a solution which eventually goes to yet another window and when that is closed it exits and closes Firefox and shows the Documents Library window. If I really needed to print the web page I start Firefox over and the copy and paste the content to Word and print from there. Frustrating!

I did follow the directions to reset the print.print.printer, even rebooted the computer and opened Firefox. Unfortunately nothing changed. Many Thanks for now but have to stop for now. LMDISTLER

That's strange. When you pop up the print dialog, is the "Print to file" checkbox checked?

You might want to consider trying a different printer from the drop-down in the Print dialog, printing to that once, and then switching back to your regular printer. If you don't have a different physical printer, try a free PDF printer driver such as PrimoPDF.

Many thanks to all of you for taking the time to help me resolve this frustrating problem. I have been very busy with care taking of my wife who is on heavy medications due to second back surgery that has not gone well. I have not been able to read all of your responses, but I stumbled on the solution and suspect the problem was the 74 year old operator and not Firefox's problem. I had decided to reinstall Firefox 12 and then when I went to test the print function with the internet I noticed that when the initial print screen came up the name of an unknown to me printer(?) appeared where it says name of printer. I only have the one printer a HP 7200 and so haven't assumed that any other would be there to select. The printer name listed was "Microsoft XPS Document Writer". When I reselected my HP7200 the problem was solved. I do not know why I had never noticed this unexpected change. again thank all of you forr your kind assistance. LMDISTLER
