XP SP3 O.S.

Memory use starts at 80 -300 meg depending on tabs opened from last session. All unecessary addons have been removed. The rest are updated. That reduced initial memory use. On open of gmail memory use did not climb. After opening several mails and sending some new ones, memory climbs. Closing gmail caused memory to drop several megs, then become stable. The same things happen with Hotmail. Your own registration ask-a-question and logins do the same thing. Closing the ask-a-question tab dropped usage 4 meg. I am not a C++ guy. Can you provide a Dr Watson like utility that logs and provides user info also so that you and users can see what is going on in each tab for all tabs open? Will you be able to identify what functions cause the leaks and auto recover the space? How do I get rid of the Samsung and Canon printer stuff. It is no longer used.
