After updating to v7 of Firefox every page I visit has ten pop up widows asking me to verify access to all knids of sites that load images and other things that use to go on in the background. Why has simply viewing a page become so complicated.

If you are seeing a lot of pop-ups it is likely that you have some malware on your machine. This Support article details how to identify and resolve any malware issues:
