In Clear Recent History, does "Everything" mean everything for the items checked or Everythng for every item, checked or not? How can we clear Everything for the checked items, i.e. all data for all time for just those items?

"Everything" means everything that exists, or in other words it wipes the slate clean.

You can also set up custom options by clicking the orange Firefox button, go to Options | Options | Privacy.

Where you see the "History" menu, use the dropdown menu to change it to "Use custom settings for history". You'll see the other options appear when you do that. If you want an explanation of what each setting does, click the "Help" button bottom right of that menu to load an illustrated guide.

If this answers your question, please click the Solved it button next to this post after you log in into the forum. This will help others searching for a solution on the same subject.

Thanks.

Everything means that there is no time range and that all entries will be removed.
If you specify a time range then only items in that range are removed.
Only items that have a check-mark are removed and the others are unaffected.
