This morning, my Firefox browser was unable to open so I downloaded it again and tried to sync up my browser using my email address. When I used my email address and reset the password, a much older version of my browser without all my bookmarks logged in. I've only use the *hidden for privacy*@gmail.com email address so I'm not sure if I have two profiles under that email. On my phone which has been sync'd to my profile for years, I have all the bookmarks that I've been using for year. I don't want to sync it now so I don't loose it.

Hi, usually when you Reset your password, the data you previously stored in the Sync cloud is erased. Please do not sync your phone!!

It sounds like your Firefox found some older local data. Let's see whether the more recent data is available. Could you try:

(1) If you haven't already, do a normal shutdown/restart of Windows to free up any locked files.

(2) Check for additional profiles using the About Profiles page. The first section of this article has the steps: Recover lost or missing Bookmarks.

(3) Check for a profile folder on your Windows desktop in an Old Firefox Data folder. If you find that folder, please pause for further suggestions.
