During my absence my house maid created a Google account for herself on my Firefox browser, which is confusing my browsing as it is also a default account. I wish to remove my maid's account but cannot find how. Please help. I am using Windows 10.

Hi, do you mean the unwanted account shows up when you go to a Google site and try to sign in?

This information probably is stored in a cookie. You could clear your Google cookies so that the next time you go to Google, it doesn't know what accounts were used on Firefox before. Here's how:

Method 1: While you are viewing a page on https://accounts.google.com/ --

Click the lock icon at the left end of the address bar. After a moment, a "Clear Cookies and Site Data" button should appear at the bottom. Go ahead and click that. Firefox will ask you to confirm; go ahead and confirm.

Then try reloading the page to view the form afresh. Success?

If Google bypasses that site and goes back to one of their services, you may need to remove Google cookies a different way:

Method 2: Call up the Settings page using either

  • menu button > Settings
  • (menu bar) Tools > Settings

In the left column, click Privacy & Security

Then on the right side, scroll down to the Cookies & Site Data section

Click the Manage Cookies button to open a little dialog where you can remove just Google cookies without logging yourself out of all the other sites.

Success?
