Is there a way to have different history settings for Private Mode?

I want to setup Firefox with different settings when I use Private Mode.

When using Private Mode, I want my browser history, cookies and downlods all to be deleted when I close the window.

I can see a way of doing this for ALL uses of Firefox, but not just for Private Mode.

Any help, gratefully recevied. Thank you.

Everything that you have listed is being done in Private browsing mode by default https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/private-browsing-use-firefox-without-history

Then its not working.

Each time I go into a Private Window, it knows my search history. As soon as I type anything in the URL bar, it lists all the sites Ive been to previously.

It lists the sites from your previous non-private sessions, and the history of your current Private session.

Im sorry, but thats not whats happening. It is 'suggesting' sites and listing sites from only my Private Windows browsing history. I have already deleted the suspect sites from my normal broswers history data, so it cant be that which is showing up

It also suggests you the links from your bookmarks

Are those history links from a PB mode session still there when you close and restart Firefox ?

During the PM session you still keep history. but only until you close Firefox as all data is kept in memory and not stored in the profile folder. What you see for cookies in the Cookie Manager (Settings -> Privacy & Security) is data about the regular session, so do not get confused. You can use the Storage Inspector to inspect the cookies from the PB mode session.
