Hello, I use McAfee for security, and recently have changed locations and a new Internet provider.Previously there was no problem with my location on google maps.On the phone, which still uses a phone connection through a different provider, maps works correctly.I have checked my settings on this computer,as advised by Firefox, and permission is given to google to access my location. I'd appreciate any help, Thnx,Steve.

Did you check your Windows O/S geolocator to make sure it correctly running and giving the right location? Also make sure your not using VPN/Proxy when using anything geo-location as that will give the incorrect locations. Also Geo-location is based on your ISP provider address that tells the site where your located at.

You can use websites like these to see how your location is reported via a reverse DNS look up of your IP:

The mention of geolocator through Windows O/S is something which I'll look at and look to find. The phone is on a different operating system and it works quite ok,correctly identifying my location,at any time. The laptop is now using a new Internet provider and the wifi modem is obviously new. A location does come up,however, at least 2 hours away, which of course is incorrect. Even using Waze on the phone,it shows my location correct. Waze on the laptop there is also an issue and it does not respond correctly. I am using McAfee both on the phone and the laptop,VPN has to be turned on when you need to use it,and it isn't turned on. I'm thinking of taking the laptop to the providers street address and log in using that wifi connection and see if the correct location is supplied. Whatever the issue is,my IP address was listed using two links supplied and this issue is either a supplier issue,or an internal computer issue tied to relocation from a previous IP address. Previously at the other IP address, google maps worked ok. This provider is fibreoptic, where the previous provider was not.
