Firefox browser missing many functions, data after reset
my browser would frequently crash, seemed related to Java maybe. I did the Firefox reset. Now I've lost a LOT of function: My history and all my bookmarks do not display (I am signed in as always). The syncing status when I click my profile icon just keeps spinning and spinning. no search suggestions pop up at all, including from history,, zero. Bookmarks toolbar is empty. Should I reinstall firefox?? or what? I have another computer that still works fine (I didn't reset) - I see all my book marks, etc.

Do you have crash reports for those crashes ?
If you have submitted crash reports, please post the IDs of one or more recent crash reports that start with "bp-".
- bp-xxxxxxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxxxxxxxxxx
You can find the report ID of recent crash reports on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page.
- click the "All Crash Reports" button on this page to open the about:crashes page and see all crash reports.
Alternatively you can open about:crashes via the location/address bar.

You can check for issues with places.sqlite and possibly restore your previous places.sqlite or a previous backup in the bookmarkbackups folder in the "Old Firefox Data" folder on the desktop created by using the Firefox refresh feature.
If you use Sync then best is to disconnect Sync temporarily during troubleshooting.
this could be a problem with the places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder.
- use the "Places Database" -> "Verify Integrity" button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page
If errors are reported with "Verify Integrity", close and restart Firefox or reboot and retry.
If "Verify Integrity" cannot repair places.sqlite, rename/remove all places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite files in the Firefox profile folder with Firefox closed. Firefox will rebuild places.sqlite and restore the bookmarks from the most recent JSON backup in the bookmarkbackups folder.
- keep a backup copy of places.sqlite in case a new places.sqlite database has to be created
- you lose the history when a new places.sqlite is created
You may have to restore an older bookmarks backup in the bookmarkbackups folder via the Bookmarks Manager (Library).
- Bookmarks -> Manage Bookmarks -> Import & Backup -> Restore

You can use the button on the "Help -> More Troubleshooting Information" (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page (Root directory).
