The documentation says to use F11. F11 was removed from ChromeOS. The Full Screen Button on the keyboard will take Firefox out of full screen, but when you try to use it to put Firefox in Full Screen, the window gets slightly larger, and then goes back to its original size.

Other applications seem to be able to go to full screen using the Full Screen key that are running under Linux. For instance, gvim, thunar, meld, and gnucash all will go into full screen with the Full Screen Key.

I found a very good work-around for this problem:

Alt-V F

So even though my Chromebook has no F11 key, and the full screen button will not put you into full screen (but will take you out of full screen) Alt-V F works just fine. Once in full screen, Alt-V F does not work, but the full screen button on my Chromebook takes you out of full screen.
