Bug? selfReplicating Bookmarks
selfProliferating Bookmarks by ScottEllington ScottEllington | 6 hours ago | in Using bookmarks and history Closed to the community Hidden
I come not to share an idea, but to identify a problem. I stopped browsing with Firefox several months ago upon realizing that my bookmarks were obviously copulating like rabbits. Just this morning, I deleted upwards of 22,000 redundant bookmarks (all but a tiny handful of my legitimates) and now, even as I watch they're back up to 22,183 and the bookmarks bar is shimmering with activity.
The attachment is a screenshot saved in a .docx, showing my Firefox bookmarks folder on the left, brimming with 22,183 files. And on the right is this page open in Firefox with my bookmark bar shimmering with metaphorical rabbit droppings.
The redundant _Homes folders contain nothing visible.
The redundant BookmarksBar folders contain legitimate bookmarks, some of which are redundant, along with a varying number of empty _Homes folders.
I select one _Homes folder in the Manage Your Bookmarks Library dialogue, and SELECT ALL to determine the number in my Bookmarks Toolbar = 22,183, BUT the oldest file, according to the "Added" column is about ten minutes old.
Help/NoHelp...I thought this problem ought to be known.
