Slow scroll on touchpad

Firefox has been the only browser that I could scroll properly on the touchpad. Any other browser would take 20 (two finger trackpad)swipes to get from top of page to bottom, Firefox took 2 swipes. With most recent update, Firefox reacted as other browsers so I deleted it and went to v. 78.15.0esr and it worked fine again. This last update put me back in slow scroll again (v. 91.3.0 esr) so I restored my computer back to 78.15.0esr. It is very time consuming to have to swipe 20 times when 2 will do it and I don't want to update again. I have tried researching why this happens and it has something to do with the way Chrome is set up and Firefox is going to that system. Pardon my lack of knowledge, I only know when there is a problem for me, not why. I just want to be able to conveniently use my laptop and apparently I am doomed if I update again. Please advise if there is an answer.

Also, it seems that most people with trackpad problems is that it is scrolling too fast.....I wish that were my problem rather than the reverse. I have tried Edge and Chrome and they all were slow/choppy and Firefox was my answer, until now.

Step one: How do you completely turn off update checks in Firefox v64? You can use a policies.json file to disable updates for all users. https://github.com/mozilla/policy-templates/blob/master/README.md or https://winaero.com/blog/disable-updates-firefox-63-above/

You can use a policies.json file in the distribution folder in the Firefox installation folder instead as also listed in the article, so no need to use GPO keys in the Windows Registry. • https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/customizing-firefox-using-policiesjson ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ You can use the ManualAppUpdateOnly policy in Firefox 87+ to enable only manual updates e.g. via "Help -> About Firefox".

Note that it is important to stay up to date and install the latest security patches.
