Can you please explain what each one does and what would happen if I increased the number.

There is normally no need to modify these network.http.max prefs as these values are set in such a way that you do not overload servers and deny others access or otherwise come over as unfriendly (what might be a reason to ban/block you).
Do you have any problems that might be related to these prefs ?
