Pointofmail track emails messages sent in Gmail. They have prevented messages being sent. They do not provide a telephone number to call nor a street address. They have an email address (support@pointofmail.com) but don't respond to anything. The problem arose when I took up a free 30 day trial with their product, after which I did not wish to subscirbe. There is nowhere giving the "no thanks" option. Do you know how I can free myself from Pointofmail when Gmail is used in Firefox? Gmail works OK in other browsers (Thunderbird and Google). Please advise.

Thank you for your suggestions and the link to the mail thread. I will watch the You Tube video out of interest but have now found that the problem has solved itself. When I booted up this evening there was a Firefox Update waiting to be installed so I installed it and now seem to have been freed from Pointofmail.

Just for background/other info, when I was in the free trial and up until today, there was a Pointofmail icon (a small orange disc) in the top right hand corner of my Gmail screen. I also noticed it on the sites I use for on line grocery shopping. Those I was able to click on and delete but the one on the Gmail site did not have the option to delete. Users with this dilemma should be vigilant and ensure they don't have the icon on shopping sites - their orders will probably not be sent!

Is this with your e-mail inbox or something else?

Some e-mail providers have the option to sort incoming mail. Contact your e-mail provider for help.

They have an email address (support@pointofmail.com)

That's the email address connected with this extension :

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/pointofmail-com-email-tracking/

Would you check Options => Add-ons => Extensions, to see if maybe you somehow inadvertently installed that extension ? If so : you should of course remove it.

Thank you for the advice. I can only see a list of recommended extensions, not which extensions I have. I tried typing the url into the options search box but was informed that it could not be found. Any other ideas?

I found this thread :

https://support.google.com/mail/thread/4713448?hl=en (see the last post)

'Hope that will work for you too.

Just in case the above doesn't work for you, I went to find out a little more about that company, and I found this page :

https://www.pointofmail.com/subscribe

When I scrolled all the way down I saw this :

"Can I cancel my account at any time?

Yes. Although we would hate to see you go, you can cancel your account anytime from your "Account Details" page or by sending an email to support@pointofmail.com.? "

But as you have already tried to contact them .....

That email address is the same address they use in the extension I mentioned, and they use it as their only way to contact them everywhere.

If everything else fails, you could give them a link to this thread and let them know that this is a public forum, and that everyone can see how they treat their customers.
