I have been in touch with our developers about this issue. So that they can look into this further, please can you explain the steps that you are going through that leads to this issue.

A screenshot of the error message would also help. Press the lower volume button and the power button at the same time to take a screenshot which you should see in your pictures app and be able to attach to a reply to this post.

When i try to sign in using my Firefox account it just repeatedly says 'error 500'. I took a screenshot but couldn't paste it to this reply for some reason.

Are you trying to sign into the Pocket app, or are you trying to sign into Pocket in Firefox for Android?

I am trying to sign into Firefox for android.

Would it be possible for you to take a screen shot of the error and attach it to a reply to this thread?

To take a screenshot from most Android devices, press and hold the lower volume button and the power button.

I downloaded the pocket application and it allowed me to sign into it although the Firefox for android application still freezes & doesn't all me to sign in using either Firefox or Google or an email +password
