Whenever I snap a window of Firefox to the left or the right (with windows snap feature : https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027324/windows-snap-your-windows), the video isn't really fullscreen (taskbar visible + 5px of the Desktop on the left and the right side). If the window isn't snapped or is maximized, this doesn't happen.

This snapping issue actually affects all kind of full screen (video, scripts in pages, the F11 key). A fix will be included in Firefox 65, which is scheduled for release on or a few days after January 29th.

Firefox 65 is currently in beta test so it is less stable than Firefox 64, but if this really drives you crazy, you do have the option to install that version now if you like:

I also encountered this bug and want to add one small detail to the report: in Firefox 64, when you revert back to normal mode (from full-screen), the formerly snapped Firefox window isn't sized correctly.

I'm using Firefox 64 on a High-DPI display (150%, in Windows... which would be 144 DPI)

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open Firefox 64 and snap the window to the left or right using Win+left or Win+right.
  2. Navigate to any page that causes the vertical scroll-bar to be visible
  3. Press F11 to enter full-screen mode.
  4. Observe the primary bug of this thread: window is not perfectly full-screen, taskbar drawn over the Firefox window
  5. Press F11 to revert to normal mode
  6. Obseve that the restored Window is a few pixels too big. This can be easily noted if you check the lower scroll button of the vertical scrollbar.

I haven't tested whether this nuance is also fixed in Firefox 65.
