All of my saved logins are missing from my sync after it required me to reconnect.

已張貼

I've had the same thing happen on my laptop. First with Firefox, basically I find that for some reason all of my saved login passwords are missing. I go to Logins and there is nothing in there. I notice that Sync is disconnected. I reconnect it (without resetting my password). It reconnects but never syncs my logins/passwords.

This happened with Firefox but I noticed that Firefox Nightly was still working and had my logins. So I started using it until the same thing mysteriously happened to me a couple of days ago. All my logins are gone and I'm disconnected from Firefox Sync.

I have the logins synced to my phone and now I have to basically look up passwords on my phone and I'm not sure how to recover them from my phone and/or why this is happening with my Firefox sync. I noticed sometimes that saved logins weren't propagating between different devices correctly all the time but it seemed like mainly one-off issues with random logins.

I guess my questions are, why are the logins not being synced or reloaded after I relogin ? What is triggering Firefox to disconnect and require a reconnect and at the same time deleting my saved logins from my local profile ? How can I access my saved login/passwords and export them to something like KeepPass so I'm not screwed if this happens to all of my devices. I admit I got lazy and started depending upon Firefox, but many passwords are one-off unique per site and so there is no way I am going to memorize them all.

Thanks

Can you confirm the presence ,or lack thereof of any add-ons?

Can you confirm this is working even in safe mode?

You mention that Nightly at least initially had your sign-ins, are firefox 61 and firefox nightly using the same profile and or configuration directory? I ask as a corruption in one instance (when using the same directory (for profile or configurations) would explain the loss across multiple instances.

Please provide the troubleshooting log:

So, there are seperate profiles - one marked firefox-trunk which I assume is nightly and one that is just firefox - both with their own profile.

I noticed an empty logins.json.corrupt file in both of them. The odd thing is that I have sync setup but neither of them are getting the logins from my Debian desktop firefox or my phone even though sync is setup to sync logins and appears to be connected.

The only Add-ons I have are multi-container, u-block origin and video download helper. I don't know how I'd be able to verify it working in Safe mode - does syncing happen in safe mode ?

The odd thing was the sequence of events was the same on both of them, seemingly random logout of sync, evidently empty logins.json.corrupt (it has 0 bytes) and no syncing after the fact.

Let me know if there is specific information you need from the troubleshooting-information-page
