I am using an add-on that changes my newtab. Every so many times i open the newtab page i now get a firefox notification (that interrupts my typing in the browser, so very annoying) about this.

How do i stop firefox from telling me what i already know and did ON PURPOSE.

What should happen, is the warning is displayed once when openeing a new tab, and you are given the option to Keep Changes or Restore Settings (this will probably change to Disable Extension in 61). This is what happens for the New Tab Tools add-on. When clicking "Keep Changes", the add-on is left enabled, otherwise it will be disabled.

Perhaps something prevents the settings to be remembered, unless you discarded the message by clicking somewhere on the page or used Escape instead of making a choice?

Not entirely sure but I think the chosen action is stored in the extension-settings.json file in your profile folder. You could compare copies of that file before and after enabling the extension. I’m not sure whether or not the enabling/disabling behavior is similar for all add-ons able to change the New Tab page either.

If this is about another add-on, check the reviews on the add-on’s page for known issues.
