I am a Tamilian, using Firefox and Tamil typing software NHM writer for more than 10 years. But a few months back, when Firefox updated to a new version, everything seemed to be changed. Tamil typing now is so difficult online with Firefox. I thought it would be corrected while Firefox gets updated to next version. But to my shock, the problem continues since last 3, 4 updates. I am using the same software in every other browser and offline with ease. I think you can do something better with it as world Tamil's population is around 8 crores / 80 million.

Hi, would not know but please check out : https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/extensions/ and Copy/Paste Tamil into the search bar in the URL. , Language packs, Dictionary, Spellchecker and a couple other things. You will find a Tamil version Browser here : https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/ I hope this solves you problem.

Please let us know if this solved your issue or if need further assistance.

Thank you for the help though the problem is not yet solved. I am not asking any extensions or Tamil language broswer at all. It's showing Tamil as well as it could, nothing wrong there. But the issues is with typing Tamil here in Firefox, say in Face book or Twitter or any other website. We can still type Tamil without any issues in search box, but that is not the case in general. Actually it was very much easy for me typing Tamil in Firefox until a few months back. Just like typing English here, I used to type Tamil too for more than a decade. But for that I was using a software called NHM Writer, before NHM writer, used E-Kalapai, a third party freeware. After using NHM writer, I do not use any other software for typing Tamil because of the ease with which I can type my language. But now, with the last few updates, that seems to be a goner in Firefox. I love Firefox for everything it gives, it was my default browser too before this issue happened. I did not try any other software with Firfox to type Tamil in between as I could use other browsers. I think Firefox team need to do something better at least while updating the next version. If the problem continues, Tamil people may move on from Firefox.

Hi, you are at least to me not explaining the issue. As to Firefox and why the Tamil Browser is not good enough or language packs. Not understanding what it is not doing in Firefox that you want it to do. Please describe in point form how this is a Firefox issue. Thank You.

As for NHM Writer it is still around http://software.nhm.in/products/writer and can upload the file to https://www.virustotal.com to be scanned by multiple anti-virus engines

E-Kalapai source code is available. http://thamizha.org/2010/11/19/ekalappai-v3.html

These are all programs that are not for Firefox and work with typing in other programs.

If it is a Windows 10 issue, check your Settings and also download language pack for it.

Hi, Thank you once again for your try. If you type with NHM writer in Firefox, the letters are merged with one another and not displaying the actual letter in Firefox.

In the image you can see the difference with search box content and within the edit tab. Both are same words. It's of course, not the software issue because I told you the reason already, I am still using the same software to type Tamil in other browsers, and it works fine there. Even in Firefox too, this problem did not happen a few months back. As I said earlier I am using the same software with updated versions over a decade. It's not working only with Firefox, and that too with latest few updates. I am using it with ease everywhere else. I think this would be enough for you to get something regarding the issue I am talking about. Thank you.
