I have spent 4 hours on phone with Cox and their tech support people over this. My Thunderbird started giving message that it could not connect with Cox server, I have 4 other emails on Thunderbird and they all work fine. I contacted Cox and they told me my account was deactivated for too many login attempts. I reactivated the account, put in the reset password from Cox and Thunderbird still says it cannot connect with the server, invalid password. I keep reentering correct password and still same thing. Password words on webmail for Cox, just not in Thunderbird, no matter what I tried. I used their online tech support who took control over my computer and checked all settings in Thunderbird, which had all pop.cox.net properly typed, they could not resolve issue and told me to contact Mozilla about the issue. Thanks.

No, I tried that just now and it still tells me the password not working with the server. Server will not authenticate password. Sorry, I was hopeful too as that was one thing I did not think about.
